Getting to La Baule
Travel, transfers, accommodation and visas for teams, and what to expect on site, at the venue and in town.

Three ways in
Whichever you choose, the last leg is short: the venue stands in the centre of town, between the station and the beach.
- By air
- Nantes Atlantique (NTE) is the nearest international airport, served from many European cities, and lies about one hour from La Baule by road. Paris airports are a further option: from Charles de Gaulle or Orly you can reach La Baule by train, via Paris Montparnasse or via Nantes.
- By train
- La Baule-Escoublac station is about 2 km from the venue (25 minutes on foot, or a bus or taxi); the town also has a second halt, La Baule-les-Pins, served only by regional TER trains. High-speed trains link Paris to La Baule in about 3 hours. Trains also run via Nantes and Saint-Nazaire, which is useful if you fly into Nantes.
- By road
- La Baule is about one hour from Nantes and about four hours from Paris by car, on the N165 and then the N171. Coaches carrying a whole delegation can set down close to the venue. Parking and coach set-down arrangements are being agreed with the town and with Atlantia.
- Transfers
- A team shuttle from Nantes Atlantique and La Baule station is being studied with local operators (to be confirmed). Until then, plan a train or a coach transfer from Nantes, and tell us your arrival and departure times when you enter.

Where teams can stay
La Baule is a seaside resort, so the number of beds is large — but the first days of July open the French summer season, and the best-placed addresses go early. Book as soon as your entry is confirmed.
- Where to stay
- Hotels, holiday residences, campsites and group accommodation, all within reach of the venue. Negotiated rates and price ranges are being put together.
- A list of partner addresses is on its way
- AIR2 is assembling a list of providers who have agreed a rate for the tournament, each with its walking or bus time to the venue. It will be published on this page and sent to every entered team. Nothing obliges you to use it: teams remain free to book wherever they wish.
Places to stay around Atlantia
A public list, with no agreement and no negotiated rate: AIR2 has no link with any of these establishments and takes no bookings. Book directly with them, and early.

Visas & invitation letters
France is part of the Schengen area. Depending on the nationality of each member of your delegation, a short-stay visa may be required to attend the tournament. AIR2 issues invitation letters to support those applications, free of charge, for every entered team.
france-visas.gouv.fr — the official French visa portal. It tells you whether a visa is required for a given nationality and lists the supporting documents.
- Confirm your entry first
- Send one complete request for the whole delegation
- Check the draft
- Receive the signed letter
- What we need from you
- Team name, and the country or national programme you compete in.
- Planned arrival and departure dates, and the dates of stay you will declare.
- Accommodation in La Baule, if it is already booked.
- The French embassy or consulate where the applications will be lodged.
- One contact person, with e-mail address and telephone number.
- Travelling with young people
- Most of the people in your delegation are children or teenagers. Many countries require additional documents for a minor travelling abroad without their parents: a parental authorisation, copies of the parents' identity documents, sometimes a certified translation.
- Deadline for letter requests
- to be confirmed
Start the process early: appointment waiting times at consulates are the single most common reason a team misses an international event.
The letter supports an application. The decision belongs entirely to the French consular authorities, and an invitation letter does not guarantee that a visa will be granted.
Atlantia, everything under one roof
The Palais des Congrès et des Festivals Jacques Chirac — known as Atlantia — stands in the centre of La Baule, a few minutes' walk from the beach and about 2 km from the railway station. Pits, matches, judging, ceremonies and catering all happen inside the same building.
